Josep Moreno i Gené. -

Chapter by Jordi Assens and Joan BoadaEl impacto del cambio tecnológico en el empleo, la importancia de la cultura organizativa

This monograph is intended to contribute to the rich debate already in existence on the impact that the implementation of new technologies has had, is having and will continue to have on the future of labor relations and, by extension, on the discipline of labor law and social security, which, at least for the moment, still has a majority to regulate. With this aim, firstly, there is a delimitation and quantification of this phenomenon, with particular attention being paid to the proliferation of distance work and to work on digital platforms that has taken place in recent years. Dr Ozlem Bak -

Chapter by Desirée KnoppenConnecting supply and demand markets in a circular economy: The case of Saica

This chapter develops the case of Saica, a company that converts an increasing number of different waste streams into feedstock – or secondary raw materials - for a series of supply chains. For each new waste stream, Saica must invest in new technology and processes, and ponder the potential interests or objections of the involved stakeholders. This case aims to describe how Saica´s decision to invest in a technology to recover value from expired packaged organic products (EPOP) hinges upon the agenda and objectives of stakeholders from supply markets, demand markets and the government.

Relational Leadership: Theory, Practice and Development

Nicholas Clarke -

This book introduces readers to the most up-to-date research in this area and the differing theoretical perspectives that can help us better understand leadership as a relational phenomenon. Important characteristics of effective leadership relationships such as trust, respect and mutuality are discussed, focusing on how they develop and how they bring about leadership effects. Specific forms of relational leadership such as shared leadership, responsible leadership, global team leadership and complexity leadership are addressed in subsequent chapters. The book is the first to examine recent ideas about how these new forms of relational leadership are put into practice as well as techniques, tools and strategies available to organisations to help do so.

The Cambridge Handbook of the Global Work-family Interface

Kristen M. Shockley, Winny Shen, Ryan C. Johnson -

Chaoter by Aline Masuda | Schwarz values: implications for global work family research

In this chapter we will encourage work-family scholars to examine cultural value orientations when studying the work family interface. First we describe Schwartz´s (2006) theory of cultural value orientations and how it differs from other theories of culture (e.g. Hofstede theory, and Inglenhart). Second, we describe a culturally sensitive theoretical framework based on previous theory of work-family conflict and work family enrichment (Powell et al. 2009). In this model, we propose how cultural value orientations may influence work family enrichment and conflict, two important constructs that captures both the positive and negative side of the work family interface.
Finally, we propose a research agenda for future research examining the role of cultural value orientations on the work family interface.
