EADA on the ranking of the world's top masters in Finance

23 June 2014
  • One of the most highly valued aspects is the student’s career development: 87% managed to find a job placement within less than three months.

The EADA Master in Finance for recent graduates ranks 26th in the world, according to the ranking published every year by the British daily paper the Financial Times. This ranking features the 45 best programmes from leading business schools worldwide.

According to Nigel Hayes, director of the EADA Masters in Finance and Masters in Management, “the ranking places our programmes among the best in the world, which is undoubtedly an accomplishment, given the quality and prestige of the other universities and business schools”. He goes on to add that “this is a guarantee and an important point of reference for candidates who will be enrolling the next academic year, 2014-15”.

Most valued aspects

The ranking is calculated by appraising a series of parameters such as salary, the programme’s degree of internationalisation, the percentage of doctors, the presence of women, the number of languages, and career progression.

Among all these parameters EADA’s participants stood out in the careers rank category, positioning EADA as the world’s second best business school in this respect. Jordi Díaz, EADA’s Programmes director, appraised this piece of data very positively given that “in a still sluggish economic environment, 87% of our students manage to find a job placement within less than three months”.

Furthermore, Nigel Hayes mentioned other differentiating factors, such as “the learning methodology focused on the real demands of the job market, paying special attention to skills that are becoming more and more in demand such as team work, the capacity for leadership and negotiation as well as communication competencies”. Due to this practical approach, the classes are presented by both academic faculty and professionals from the corporate world, a fact that, according to Hayes, “prevents us from climbing up further on the Financial Times ranking but which benefits our students, who need learning based on real cases in order to ensure success in their careers”.
