The Master in Tourism & Hospitality Management is a one-year degree specially designed to prepare graduates to pursue an international career in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Throughout the year, participants of the Master in Tourism & Hospitality Management develop core Hospitality Management competencies, as well as personal and professional skills in the areas of communication, negotiation, teamwork and leadership. The core subjects are delivered at our main campus in the centre of Barcelona, while leadership skills are developed at the Collbató Residential Training Campus.

Throughout the Master, participants are exposed to real-life case studies facilitated by a combination of academics and practitioners using a unique methodology based on small, multicultural classes.

In addition, the programme has a Hospitality Training Practicum which will enable you to work at national and international level in top companies in the tourism and hospitality sector. The programme will also give you access to young talent programmes which will allow you to run your own department in two to three years.

The International Master in Tourism & Hospitality Management programme offers you the opportunity to do a week´s training in an international destination and experience first hand what it is like to work in a hotel. You will live a great experience as a future manager in the Tourism and Hospitality Management industry through practical tutorials in different departments of the resort.

Message from the director Ulrike Jung

The International Master in Tourism & Hospitality Management is designed to develop your skills to become a manager in the hospitality industry. EADA offers you the opportunity to join a top-ranked master’s degree in the city centre of Barcelona, one of Europe’s tourism and hospitality hot spots.

EADA’s pragmatic, hands-on approach gets you ready for a successful career in the industry. Our personalised programme with small, culturally diverse classes uses a mix of case methodology, applied exercises and latest insights delivered by established professionals in the field. In addition to classes, you participate in a Marketing Challenge in which you deliver value to a real client as a consultant. The business plan that you will be developing as the final project will give you the skills to become an entrepreneur. Furthermore, it will provide you with an opportunity to implement a sustainable vision for the future of tourism. You also develop your leadership and people management skills throughout the year at the EADA-Residential Training Campus. Programme structure

The Master in Tourism & Hospitality Management (60 ECTS) is divided into 4 phases: 3 trimesters of skills development on campus, followed by the Hospitality Training Practicum.

In the first trimester, you will work on the fundamentals of business and management in the industry, followed by a closer look at the latest insights, advances and best practises in Quality, Innovation, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship in hospitality.

Throughout the 3 trimesters, you will take part in the Professional Development Plan in the Collbató Residential Training Campus, where you will develop your teamworking, communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

Exchange programme (optional)

One-term exchange with + 30 partner schools around the world. Double degree option from: Aston Business School (U.K.), EDHEC (France), EBS (Germany) and HHL (Germany).

Students applying to take part in the exchange programme must complete the admission process (in some cases including GMAT, TOEFL, etc.) with the participating school.

 

 

EADA reserves the right to make changes to the schedule and the topics offered during the programme.

 

Marketing Challenge

You will compete in teams to develop a marketing plan for a client company that has a real issue such as increasing sales, reaching a specific target client, entering a market or finding innovative channels to reach the client. You will act as teams of consultants who are pitching their approach and work to the client, where the winning team may see their plan implemented.

International Weeks

The International Weeks provide the opportunity to grow your network, as you share the classroom with participants from other International Master programmes, and choose electives taught by visiting professors and senior managers from all over the world.

Hospitality Training Practicum (HTP)

The HTP is a challenging work assignment (min. 400 hours) with a complementary learning component. The incorporation of practical work experience, formal training, and support by career development advisors provides participants with the unique opportunity to develop and assume challenging responsibilities within the hospitality industry.
