21 December 2021

EADA Business School has signed a collaboration agreement with Bureau Veritas Formación, a world leader in corporate sustainability management with a presence in more than 140 countries, to jointly deliver the Sustainability Expert programme. This programme has been designed to respond to the environmental and social challenges currently facing companies, offering knowledge of the national and international frameworks that guide sustainable transformation.

It is a 30-hour online training programme with 5 modules: Challenges and frameworks for action, purpose and social enterprise (taught by Professor Federica Massa-Saluzzo), SDG opportunities and challenges for business (taught by Professor Desirée Knoppen), impact measurement, and identification and prioritization of areas for action (by Professor Josep Maria Coll). The programme is aimed at managers and technicians who must implement sustainability and transformation policies in organizations, executives or managers who need to know in general terms the implications of incorporating sustainability strategies in their companies and, also, any professional profile that wants to know the impact and implementation of sustainability policies in the company.

The EADA and Bureau Veritas Sustainability Expert programme pursues 6 specific objectives:

  • Accelerate the sustainable transformation, integrating sustainability into the value chain, aligning business strategies with sustainable development, and boosting long-term value creation.
  • Develop skills and improve competencies of critical analysis, systemic thinking, decision-making and the sense of responsibility, with the purpose of promoting levers of change that help to foster sustainability in companies.
  • Possess the tools and resources that facilitate management and decision-making processes by using the triple bottom line as a reference.
  • Learn about successful business cases that serve as a reference and inspiration to face the challenges of a sustainable transition.
  • Understand the importance of sustainability in the business environment and the changes that are currently taking place, as well as international frameworks which have an impact on sustainability.
  • Create networks and exchange experiences between professionals from different areas and sectors as well as promote synergies between different companies.

Sustainability, a strategic axis

When signing the agreement, Jordi Díaz, Dean at EADA Business School emphasised that “sustainability is one of our strategic axes. As an institution dedicated to training, we have to promote this necessary corporate transition towards a more sustainable model.”

Ruth Ballesteros, Managing Director of Bureau Veritas Formación highlighted that, “we are committed to the development of talent in organisations and we believe that there is an important need in the market for professionals who are capable of leading the transformation of entities towards sustainability that uses synergies and addresses social and environmental challenges.” According to Cristina Ortega, Product & Business Developer Manager, “companies are very aware of this need, and they are increasingly looking to consolidate this knowledge within their own organisation to design a strategy which is sustainable and creates value.”
