Getting in contact with Eastern European institutions and companies

6 November 2014

In keeping with its international outlook and its commitment with other universities to seek out academic excellence, EADA has just signed a collaboration agreement with EPOKA University, an institution located in Tirana (Albania) which, despite its brief history –it was founded in 2007– has become a flagship in the Balkans for the quality of its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and for the prestige of its two research centres.

The agreement, signed October 31st in EADA in the presence of the heads of both institutions, entails the joint design of customised training programmes for executives from various Albanian companies as well as the co-organising of seminars, workshops and conferences related to management. The agreement sets up three scholarships for the university’s best students so that they can complete their final studies in EADA as well as collaboration in consultancy in order to enable EPOKA to pass the demanding international quality accreditations.

Attracting international talent

According to Jordi Díaz, EADA’s Head of studies, “this agreement is yet another example of the growing interest that students from Eastern European countries are showing for our masters and MBA programmes”. Aware of this need, Díaz adds “EADA wants all this talent to continue to develop its managerial skills in our classrooms, familiarising themselves with management trends via practical cases, the fruit of our learning methodology based on learning by doing”. In his opinion, “training of executives from emerging countries is quite a challenge indeed, countries in a period of growth that are getting closer and closer to joining the European Union and to playing a decisive role in the European economy in the coming years”.

Together towards excellence

But without a doubt, helping universities such as EPOKA to enter into the accredited institutions sector internationally also constitutes a challenge. As Jordi Díaz points out, “EADA in the past also received the advice and collaboration of institutions with greater expertise, whose collaboration was essential for achieving excellence in our programmes”.  This excellence is certified by the EQUIS and AMBA accreditations, the recent appointment of the business school as an official partner of the CFA Institute –a global association that certifies the quality and academic excellence of Finance programmes – and the Financial Times ranking that ranks EADA among the world’s top 50 business schools in Executive Education and 25th in Europe”.
