ORANGE, CALIF., Nov., 2010 – Jordi Diaz, director of programs at EADA in Barcelona, Spain, was elected chair of the Executive MBA Council Board of Trustees. Diaz is the first chair from an EMBA program outside North America. The Executive MBA Council currently includes more than 200 educational institutions that administer 300 plus EMBA programs worldwide.

Diaz joined EADA in 2002 as coordinator of international programs. Later on as director of international programs, he was responsible for global outreach programs and international alliances with business schools worldwide.  Along the way, he designed and coordinated numerous EADA international study programs for Executive MBA students from business schools throughout the world.  Through these connections, he discovered the Executive MBA Council.

Diaz attended the Executive MBA Council international conference in 2004 and quickly became involved as a member of the conference planning committee for the 2005 conference held in Barcelona.  In 2008, he was elected to the Executive MBA Council Board of Trustees.

Diaz received his bachelor’s degree in public relations and management from the University of Wales.  He embarked on his professional business career when he joined the Ritz Carlton in the training area.  He returned to school for his master’s degree in human resources management at EADA.  After completing his degree he received an offer from the school to help grow its international programs.

A former international water polo player for Spain, Diaz captained one of the first league teams, Sant Andreu in Barcelona, and played in the European Championships for Spain’s national team.
