Master in Management - MUGE

The Master's main objective is to prepare participants to manage people in organizations. It focuses on the mastery of management techniques and tools, the development of interpersonal competencies and acquiring a global vision of the company and its strategic position in the market.

The general educational objectives of the Master are:

  1. to acquire knowledge of organisations, as well as people management and teamwork skills;
  2. to have the ability to integrate and apply concepts and techniques for managing people and facing the complexities involved;
  3. To be able to develop learning skills and communicate findings, and encourage the development of self-directed or autonomous learning and growth.

Admissions Requirements

  1. To access the Master in its English edition, applicants must demonstrate knowledge equivalent to English language level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

  2. To access the Master in the Spanish version, applicants must demonstrate knowledge equivalent to level English language level B1 of CEFR.

Selection criteria

If more applications for admission are received than places are available, the following selection criteria will apply:

  1. the degree of adequacy of previous degrees for master studies (25%).
  2. the academic record of the previous studies (25%).
  3. the knowledge of English at level C1 or higher (20%). (This selection criterion is only valid for the Spanish version of the Master, as in the English version it is an admission requirement.)
  4. the score in the proficiency tests carried out at the stage of admission (10%).
  5. mobility during previous studies (2%).
  6. a personal mission statement by applicants, which must include a description of the personal motivation of the candidate and objectives that prompted the application to the master (3%).
  7. personal interview with the director of the Master program, in which the personal mission statement is commented and the adequacy of the applicant for the master is considered (10%)
  8. the applicant’s interest in the programme (5%)

The admissions Committee of the Master can define and extend these criteria. In any case, the suitability of studies, transcript and linguistic domain will have a combined weight not less than 70%.

To obtain the degree, students must take four compulsory modules, including Practice and Master's Thesis work and 27 elective credits. It is highly recommended that the optional subjects will be selected from one of the five itineraries that are developed in the curriculum.

Mobility

For the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia mobility programs are a fundamental line of action to facilitate the exchange of content, methodologies and resources and to enhance the generation and transmission of Knowledge.

Practice

Students attend a compulsory course of professional practice, 5 credits, which involves the preparation and intervention in a real business context. The practices developed in enterprises, which have previously signed a cooperation agreement, provide an opportunity to improve personal skills and job placement approach. The student will be integrated into the organization and carry related to the powers established in the specific agreement that accompanies the framework agreement tasks.
