EADA's history

A history at the service of companies

It is now more than 50 years since in 1957 a group of professionals connected to the world of business decided to initiate EADA's activities. Today I am very proud to preside over the Foundation board and contemplate how the institution has evolved over the years.

EADA came into being in 1957 in Barcelona as an institution for continuous training, due to the initiative of Arturo Alsina and myself.

In its first years of existence, EADA was formed as a consultancy in business management and administration. During this short period the organization concentrated on researching everything to do with business issues, preparing an adequate teaching staff and adapting study programmes.

Two years later, our activities expanded into continuous training, specializing in the field of business management and administration, the backbone of our institution's activities to this very day. In 1960 we started our first open training courses.

In 1967 EADA became an incorporated company. The founders, teachers and non teaching staff became EADA's shareholders.

With time, teaching activities at EADA crossed territorial boundaries and we thus began to develop tailor-made programmes outside Catalonia, both in the rest of Spain and internationally, especially in Latin America and Europe.

Following the death of co-founder and Managing Director Arturo Alsina in 1974, I took charge of the institution until David Parcerisas was nominated Director General.

In 1981, due to the changing requirements of the companies we offered our services to, we gave up our consultancy activities so as to concentrate on training.

In 1984, EADA Foundation was created which took on the teaching activities of the institution.

Since 1990 EADA has not only occupied the building in Aragó street, but also owns the Residential Centre in Collbató. This extension to our premises was meant to satisfy the growing need for training and our constant concern to provide the best possible service to the business community. In 1999 EADA consolidated its presence in the Latin American market with the creation of a branch in Lima, Peru.
