FAQS

In general, EADA’s International and Specialised Masters programmes are designed to specialise in a particular field such as Marketing, Human Resources, or Finance. The International Master in Management is the exception to this rule, as it aims to give participants a global vision of the company, touching on several areas of the company.

EADA’s International Masters are designed for recent university graduates and work experience is welcome, but not mandatory. The average participant is between 24 and 25 years old with 1 year of experience.

EADA’s MBA programmes provide participants with an overview of key areas of the company, including the development of leadership skills that are essential to international managers. The MBA is designed for participants with a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate, full time work experience, and the average student has 5 years of experience and is 29 years old. Work experience is a requirement for this programme.

Reading the answer to question 1 will help you understand the requirements for each type of programme. All programmes require a university degree (minimum 3 years), and candidates for the MBA programmes must also have a minimum of 2 years of full time, post-graduate work experience in order to apply.

The application process is made up of four steps:

- filling out the online application form
- sending the necessary documentation including a copy of the ID card (EU candidates) or passport (non-EU candidates), a copy of the certified university title and academic record, 1 passport size photo, 2 letters of recommendation, a letter of motivation and copy of CV. MBA candidates will also be required to send 2 essays – see the Web page for more details.
- sending the results of the GMAT and TOEFL tests (or, alternatively, taking EADA’s test).
- completing a personal interview.

These steps will be carried out with EADA directly or, where applicable, with our International Representative in your country. Once you have completed the process, we pass all of this information on to the Admissions Committee and inform you of its decision within 7 to 10 days.

EADA has what is called a “rolling admission”, which means that there is no final deadline. Due to EADA’s methodology of “learning by doing”, class sizes are small and places are limited. We accept candidates until there are no more places in the programme, and for this reason we recommend completing the admissions process and enrolling as early as possible.

If you have not received your final grades or university title at the time of application, you can present these documents at a later date. However, your admission will be conditional on presenting these documents before the end of the year and you will not receive EADA’s title until you have met this requirement.

To complete the admission process, candidates need only submit a scanned copy of the university documents required.

Admitted candidates wishing to enrol will be required to send original notarized official translations of the university degree and transcripts, a notarized copy of the passport or EU identification and 4 original passport size photos.

You should choose people from your professional or educational experience that can speak to your skills and how these relate to the programme to which you are applying.

Letters should appear on the letterhead of the university or company and they should always include contact information in case the Admissions Committee has any additional questions. In the “application” section of the programme you are interested in on EADA’s Web site there is also a downloadable reference form you can use if you prefer.

Candidates for all programmes will be required to take either the GMAT and TOEFL exams or EADA’s test. If you choose to take the GMAT and the TOEFL/PTE, the minimum scores are as follows:

GMAT:         600
TOEFL:        paper-based: 550
                  computer-based: 250
                  Internet-based: 79

PTE:           59

EADA’s test is offered as an alternative to the GMAT and TOEFL because in many countries these tests may be inconvenient and/or costly for candidates. EADA’s priority is determining if candidates are fluent enough to be able to contribute and participate actively inside and outside of class, and for this reason, our test reflects the types of activities you will be expected to complete during the school year.

The EADA test has two parts, one numerical and one reading comprehension. The numerical test is designed to evaluate your ability to interpret charts and tables and the reading comprehension test is based on your ability to understand short texts. As this is a general skills test, there are no real preparation exercises; your own experience using figures and texts will be reflected in the results. There is no “passing” or “failing” of the test - you receive a confidential score that will be taken into account, along with the rest of your documentation and the interview, by the Admissions Committee.

Yes, the application process can be completed by distance. In this case, the tests will be taken online and the interview with the Programme Director will be by telephone. Moreover, in many countries EADA has international representatives with whom you complete the application process directly.

Students from the European Union do not need a student visa to study at EADA.

The process for obtaining the student visa for non-EU citizens varies from country to country, but students must always apply at their local Spanish consulate or embassy. Once a participant is enrolled, EADA sends the required paperwork to the student so that he/she can present it at the embassy during the visa application process. Students should be aware that this process can take up to several months.

The admission to EADA is valid for two years. This means if you are unable to attend in the year for which you applied and were admitted, you can defer until the next year. In order to enrol the following year, you will not need to complete the application process again, but simply contact EADA for an updated admission letter.

Every year, EADA has two deadlines in March and May for scholarship applications. Students must be admitted and enrolled (having paid the 25% enrolment fee) to apply for an EADA scholarship, and each scholarship covers up to 50% of the total cost of the academic programme (not including room and board). The scholarship brochures can be downloaded from the "Scholarships and financing" section of each programme or follow the links below:

EADA offers post-course student exchanges as an excellent opportunity to extend participants’ learning experience once they have finished their programme at EADA. Last year’s partners were made up of 20 business schools in 13 countries including South Africa, Japan, Peru, Thailand, Taiwan, Peru, Argentina and the United States, as well as many European nations. The specific format and focus of the annual study abroad opportunities are presented every February and students can begin the application process at this time. All of the programmes are from approximately September to December, and students will be awarded a diploma upon completion.

The International Master in Management also offers the opportunity to study abroad during the course of the programme. Please see the programme brochure of this Master for more information.

Accommodation is not included in the price. Each programme will have some modules that are taught at our Residential Centre in Collbató, 40 km outside of Barcelona. These modules will total between 15 and 20 days spread out over the length of the programme and only during these stays outside of Barcelona, room and board will be provided.

EADA does not offer accommodation on its campus. Once enrolled, you will receive a Welcome Pack with information about housing agencies in Barcelona and a user name and password to enter housing forums in EADA’s Intranet. In these forums, you will be able to communicate with students (and private landlords) who have flats/rooms to offer as well as students enrolled in the upcoming school year who are looking to share flats.

The majority of classes will be held in Barcelona. Each programme includes between 4 and 6 modules focused on personal development and leadership skills, which will be held in the Residential Training Centre in Collbató. The Collbató campus is about 45 minutes from Barcelona and EADA provides transport as well as main meals and lodging during these modules.

You should budget between 800€ and 950€ a month for living expenses. The exact amount will depend on each student’s lifestyle. Below are some examples of monthly expenses:

Monthly housing: 300-450€
Monthly utilities: 100€
Transport: 60€
Other expenses: 350€

Between January and July, EADA organises monthly Open Days where candidates can meet each other and get to know the school. Participants can visit both campuses, experience an EADA class, meet current students and alumni and complete the admission tests and interview. More details can be found in the events section of our Web page.
