Internacional MBA is a programme designed to enhance the potential of university graduates in the initial stages of their professional career.


FIRST TRIMESTER (SEPT. – DEC.)

Strategic Management I

This course provides the basis for defining and implementing the corporate vision and mission, as well as business values and strategies. Participants learn to evaluate the competitive position of a company in terms of rigorous internal and external analysis and also to consider the key factors that enable sustainable competitive advantage.

Managerial Economics I

Participants consider the social, political and economic issues that affect the daily management of the corporation and require management decisions of critical importance for the company.

Business Analysis and Planning

Participants acquire the capacity to assimilate financial information and propose business recommendations based on the analysis of the company's financial statements.

Strategic Marketing

The strategic role of marketing is considered and pitted against the fundamental characteristics of consumer behaviour and market research techniques.

Marketing Plan

Participants will complete a marketing plan, taking into account objectives, the basic marketing strategies of variables in the marketing mix and a provisional operating account or analysis of financial viability. This prepares participants to face a real-life business situation.

Financial Decision Making

This course covers managerial concepts and techniques for products and service costing. Participants will learn how to use cost accounting information to aid managerial goals and acquire the tools for analysing the viability of investment.

Final Class Project (Introduction)   

This class will explain the guidelines and working phases of the Final Project to be presented at the end of the course, counting for 25% for the total MBA grade.

Seminar Week

EADA's MBA Seminars allow participants to interact for a day with leading professors and business executives from a wide range of countries, companies and experience.

Professional Development I (Foundations)

This module will initiate participants into a process of reflection and action that has been designed to aid them in developing their competencies. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Professional Development II (Team Work)

Skills are developed to coordinate and to manage people in an organization and to participate in a work team. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató

Professional Development III (Effective Business Communication)

This module focuses on learning and developing the professionals skills needed to manage people effectively. It is focused on presentations skills and managing meetings. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

 

SECOND TRIMESTER (JAN. – MAR.)

Marketing Mix

The aim of this course is to identify coherent strategies related to key variables of the marketing mix: product, price, distribution, sales and communication. Elaboration of a marketing plan is used to put these concepts into practice.

Managerial Economics II

The second part of this course is based on emerging economies and the impact globalization has on them. Students will learn to recognise and assess the different states of these economies.

Business Simulation (Markstrat)

A computer-based simulation allows teams to put concepts into practice and see immediate results based on a competitive business environment.

Working Capital Management

Participants apply financial tools to evaluate investment decisions and decide on the right combination of financial instruments required to meet the company's short term needs.

Professional Development IV (Managing Oneself & Others)

The principal focus of this module is on the skills, abilities and attitudes that increase our self-management, initiative and self-motivation, as well as effective communication. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Business Life Cycle (Strategic Management II)

The Business Life Cycle module is based on the anthropomorphic analogy between business development and life. Organizations evolve consecutively through the stages of creation, growth, consolidation and revitalization. In each of them the challenges are different as are the resources and competencies required.

International Weeks

EADA's International Weeks modules allow participants to interact for 5-day courses with leading professors and business executives from a wide range of countries, companies and experiences.

 

THIRD TRIMESTER (APR. – JUL.)

Operations & Supply Chain Management

The course focuses on improving competitiveness by effectively designing production processes, establishing quality criteria and implementing control mechanisms.

Human Resources Management

This course takes participants through the strategic and tactical steps involved in resource forecasting, planning, selection, reward, evaluation and training.

Strategic Implementation (Strategic Management III)

The implementation module deals with the challenge of transforming a strategic plan into action, and ultimately, into results. The implementation process is a complex one due to the quantity of activities that are involved, the different ways in which managers approach it, the skills necessary and the resistance to change.

Management Control

Management control must encompass all the company’s functional areas, guaranteeing there are mechanisms that can measure the most significant profit indicators as well as decision-making processes regarding how much added value the business generates.

Corporate Finance Strategy

Special emphasis is placed on understanding the cost of financial resources and developing business relationships with financial institutions.

Professional Development V (Negotiation Skills)

In this module participants are given tools and techniques to strengthen their negotiation skills and become productive managers who can creative deals with lasting value for all parties involved.  This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Professional Development VI (Leading People & Teams)

In order to fully take advantage of the potential benefits of teamwork, it is important to understand how people work in different situations and how their participation can be optimised. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató.

Electives

During the final month of the programme and during the International Week modules, participants have the option to choose from a variety of elective courses that fall under the areas of international management, international marketing, international finance and personal development. Examples of electives in previous years include:

  • Organisational Design, Development and Change
  • Business Excellence
  • Trends in International Marketing
  • Luxury Branding
  • Personal Finances and Investment Decisions
  • Venture Capital and Corporate Finance
  • Hedging Business Risks
  • Developing the Leader in You 

Note: Electives change from year to year based on changing business and academic environments.

International Week Abroad

At the end of the year, participants will have the option of participating in a residential course in Europe, Asia or America. Past courses have taken place in:

  • 2007-2008: Indian Institute of Management (IIMB), Bangalore, India
  • 2008-2009: Haas School of Business, Berkley, USA
  • 2009-2010: A top 20 business school (to be announced)

 

FINAL CLASS PROJECT

The aim of the EADA Final Project is to give participants the opportunity to apply what they have learned to the business challenges faced by some of today’s leading companies. Some examples of past projects include Easyparking: low cost parking in Prat Airport, CHITOSAN: production and commercialisation of a biopolymer and Connect Air Business Plan.
