Management FoundationsInternational Business EnvironmentInternational business is examined from local, regional and national perspectives in this course, which describe the main factors in the world economy. Candidates will develop their own appreciation of globalisation, and what it means for the source and host countries, multinational companies and international institutions. Research MethodsThe skills you will need to carry out a major research dissertation are explained in this course. It includes research seminars and workshop sessions on using computers and other equipment. Research design, data collection, analysis techniques, and management of the research process are also examined. Business EconomicsThis course explores economic concepts relevant to management planning and decision-making. Topics include growth strategies of organisations and the market environment. Personal Professional DevelopmentSkills are developed to coordinate and to manage people in an organization and to participate in a work team. This part of the module will be carried out at the EADA Residential Training Centre in Collbató. Human Resource ManagementThis class aims to provide you with a critical understanding of HRM and its changing role within the business and social environment. It examines, among other topics, the evolution of management systems, recruitment, employee development, performance and reward systems, employee involvement, stakeholders and negotiation. Finance and AccountingThis course demystifies the role and structure of finance and financial control in organisations. Among the topics covered are basic accounting, the structure of company accounts, ratio analysis, the flow of funds, budgetary control, cost accounting and standard costing. MarketingThis class will use individual managers of successful businesses that strive to create long-term, profitable relationships with the customer, and to ensure that their companies meet the customer's detailed wants and needs. This course will help participants research buyer behaviour and develop successful marketing strategies and the topics covered include the marketing mix, marketing planning, segmentation and positioning. International WeekFor two weeks, participants have the opportunity to choose two optional subjects. The "international week" module encompasses all EADA full-time programmes, and is an ideal opportunity to make contact with participants on other programmes. In order to provide another perspective, EADA has invited visiting faculty from partner schools and managers with outstanding experience. Electives A/B January-JuneInternational Business StrategyThe growth of international business is analysed from a multidisciplinary perspective in this course, which looks in particular at the ways in which firms enter foreign markets and how these strategies vary according to the product or market concerned. Other topics covered include strategic responses to environmental change, modern theories of international business, sourcing from abroad and managing for international competitiveness. Cross-cultural ManagementThis course will help students understand how cultural differences affect management practices. Different styles of communication and negotiation, and how to get the best from multicultural teams, are among the topics covered. E-BusinessThe aim of this course is to develop an understanding of e-commerce and e-business. To be able to assess, develop and manage the 'e' strategy of an organisation. Advanced International BusinessThis course relates current business issues to the wider international scene. Topics might include, for example, the importance of foreign direct investment, the business environment in developing countries, changes in international regulations and ethics in international business. Business and Management in Latin AmericaHow, why and when should you do business with Latin America? In this course, you will analyse local business peculiarities and study multinational firms operating from and in the region. European Business ManagementThe many facets of doing business in the European Union are examined in this course, which covers topics such as monetary and fiscal harmonisation, competition policy, worker participation, social policy, marketing and strategic planning in a European context, and the role of Europe in the world economy. International Financial ManagementForeign exchange management, international loan capital, multinational reporting and foreign investment decisions are among the topics covered in this course, which will be particularly useful if you intend to work for an organisation trading in foreign markets, or for the treasury function of a multinational company.
