 | Corporate Finance aims to design and implement financial strategies which the company can use to create value in the future by focusing on two fundamental aspects: an analysis of investment decisions and an optimal financing structure together with its dividends policy. |
Programme InformationParticipant Profile- Members of management boards, CEOs, financial managers, tax and legal advisers, management consultants and other corporate professionals who wish to enter into this area in the future.
- Prior knowledge of accounting and finance is required in order to undertake the programme.
What will I get out of this programme?- As detailed below, the programme aims to provide participants with a solid body of knowledge in the corporate financial function:
- To review prospective investments and select those which will generate greater value in the future.
- To define the optimal debt/ equity structure and its influence on the company's value and profitability.
- To calculate the cost of resources, i.e. the return expected by banks and shareholders on the resources they have contributed to the company.
- To outline the most appropriate dividend policy whilst taking into account that there has to be a balance between the interests of the company and those of shareholders.
- To develop existing methods for calculating the value of a company in a practical way and determine the implications that the valuation process may have on complex financial operations: mergers, acquisitions, Management Buyouts.
- To use Project Finance as a means of financing macro-project investments where return of the investment is guaranteed by the cash flows generated by the project.
- To present real business scenarios related to the above areas in a practical way.
- To participate in discussions of real case studies whilst working in teams and sharing experiences.
Methodology- The above mentioned objectives can be achieved by combining various methodologies. In each training session the speaker presents the subject matter of the programme and ask participants for their points of view and opinions about the issues under discussion. The subject matter is then be put into practice by implementing a case study methodology.
- This method involves analysis, diagnosis and decision making around real situations and specific problems and enables participants to develop their ability to analyze complex business scenarios and to apply the knowledge they have acquired.
- During the case discussion process, the professor becomes the moderator of the discussion whose mission it is to ensure the quality of debate whilst presenting and defending his/ her own opinions and points of view.
