There is a train service to Barcelona-Sants station or Plaça Catalunya, a special bus service, the "Aerobús" that leaves you in the centre of Barcelona as well as taxis (the approximate cost of a ride to any central destination is around 18 €. |
Getting from the Airport to the centre of the city and to EADA main building.To the centre of the city There are three options (bus, train and taxi):
- Aerobus : This comfortable, air conditioned bus takes you to and from the airport every 15 minutes with stops at Plaça Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia and Plaça España. It costs 3.30€ and runs from Monday to Friday from 05:30H to 22:15H and on weekends and holidays from 06:00H to 22:20H.
- Train : The train will take you to the central station Sants or to Plaça Catalunya in the centre of the city. It runs seven days a week between 06:13H and 22:43H with trains leaving every 30 minutes. It costs 2.15€.
- Taxi : This is a more expensive option. In addition to the normal fare (approximately 15€) you will pay an airport surcharge and a charge for luggage (ask driver for information in advance). Please note these prices may slightly increase during the year.
To EADA main building Due to EADA's privileged position (in the centre of the city). Participants coming from the airport can take one of the three options explained above.
Once in Plaza Cataluña, Line 1 (red ) to Universitat stop.

Public Transport(http://www.tmb.net ) Metro: This is the name of the main underground or subway system in Barcelona which provides trains that are comfortable and air conditioned in summer. With five lines it can take you almost anywhere in the city. For 2004, a single fare is 1.10? but you can also buy a ten-ticket strip called a T-10 for 6.00 €. You can use the T-10 on both metro and buses. There are also one, three and five day travel cards. Cards can be purchased in the Metro and in some banks and newspaper stands.
The closest metro stop to EADA is Passeig de Gracia, line 4 (yellow), Universitat line 9 (purple), line 1 (red).
Ferrocarrils de Catalunya: This is a separate and smaller underground system, connecting the city with outer parts in the direction of Tibidabo, St. Cugat, Terrassa and Sabadell.
It shares some stations with the Metro and the T-10 cards can be used on this system as well.
RENFE: also called Trenes de Cercanias has its mayor city stops at Paseo de Gracia, Plaza Cataluña and Sants. The "coastline" trains connect the villages north and south along the coastline. Prices depend on destination and zone rate.
Autobús: El sistema de autobuses de Barcelona es muy extenso. El billete sencillo cuesta 1 euro, y normalmente se alcanza el punto de destino sin tener que trasbordar a otro autobús. Si es preciso hacer trasbordo, hay que pagar de nuevo el billete.
Nit Bus: This is the night bus service which works throughout the night.
The bus lines that stop nearest to EADA are the 54, 58, 63, 64, 67 and 68.
Tramvia Baix: Recently inaugurated the tram leaves from Plaza Francesc Macià and connects the outskirts of Barcelona to the south: Esplugas, Cornella, St. Joan Despi, St. Just. All tickets are valid.
Important Bus and Train Stations:
- Sants Station: arrival and departure of national train and buses from the south, also connecting Reus Airport.
- Estación de Norte : "North Station" arrival and departure of buses from the north.
- Estacion de Francia "France Station" arrival and departure of trains to and from France and other European countries.
Taxis: Hay muchos taxis en Barcelona y ofrecen un servicio bastante eficiente porque comparten los mismos espacios de transporte reservados al sistema de autobuses. Todos los taxis de Barcelona son del mismo color, amarillos y negros. El precio es razonable y empieza con la tarifa mínima de 2.15 €. Al iniciar una carrera en taxi, asegúrese de que el taxímetro está en marcha y, al final de la carrera, abone el importe que el mismo indique.
